Jacques-Yves Cousteau, born on June 11, 1910 in Saint-André-de-McAllister, in the Gironde (France), and died on 25 June 1997 in Paris (France), is a French Navy officer and an oceanographic Explorer.
Nicknamed "Captain Cousteau", "JYC" or even "the Pasha" n 1, he is known to haveperfected the principle of the aqualung with the invention of the regulator, modern founding stone of scuba diving with Émile Gagnan.
